Energage, the HR technology company behind the Top Workplaces program, has partnered with The Princeton Review to introduce the Top Workplaces for Higher Education award — a national recognition honoring colleges and universities that cultivate people-first cultures where faculty, staff, and administrators feel engaged, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Winners will be determined through the confidential, research-backed Energage Workplace Survey. Eligible institutions include four-year colleges and universities with at least 150 employees and a minimum 35% survey response rate.

Nominations are open to anyone and participation is free. The deadline to nominate a college or university is September 5, 2025, with winners announced in early 2026. To submit a nomination, visit this link.

“In higher education, academic excellence and student success rest on the foundation of engaged and supported faculty and staff,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “Our partnership with The Princeton Review will elevate institutions that are investing in their people, fostering vibrant campus cultures, and leading with purpose.”

Robert Batten, CEO of The Princeton Review, added, “We’ve long helped students find the schools that best fit their academic and personal goals. Now, this initiative will give prospective employees insights into which colleges and universities are the best workplaces for them. We look forward to spotlighting the outstanding institutions recognized in the 2026 awards.”

This new award expands Energage’s suite of recognition programs, each built on authentic employee feedback, and offers higher education employers national visibility along with a competitive edge in attracting and retaining top talent in today’s evolving academic environment.
