The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited has appointed Savitha Krishnamoorthy as Head of Human Resources & Administration, effective October 5, 2026. She succeeds Salil Raghavan, who retired from the role on October 4 and will continue to be associated with the company as an advisor.

Krishnamoorthy has been with Great Eastern Shipping since May 2001 and brings more than two decades of HR experience. Her responsibilities have included talent acquisition, talent and performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee and leadership development.

She holds a PG Diploma in Business Administration (HR) from Welingkar Institute of Management and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce. She has also completed the CHRO Leadership Programme at Cornell University and holds accreditation in several psychometric assessment tools.

With the appointment, Krishnamoorthy will become part of the company's Senior Management Personnel under SEBI regulations. The transition represents an internal succession in Great Eastern Shipping's HR leadership function.

Why it matters: The appointment highlights the growing role of experienced HR leadership in strengthening talent development, leadership capabilities and organisational effectiveness as companies navigate changing workforce needs.
