Aspect Launches Forward Deployed Engineers, Bringing Its Engineers Directly Into Enterprise Operations

Workforce Management · Product Release 3 min read

Aspect has announced Aspect Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE), a new service for select enterprise customers that brings Aspect engineers directly alongside their teams to design and build custom capabilities — including Aspect Intelligence™-powered solutions — for operational problems that standard configuration cannot solve. FDE launches as part of the Q3 2026 release for Aspect Cloud Workforce™.

Enterprise workforce operations are rarely one-size-fits-all, and the hardest problems take more than software alone. With FDE, Aspect embeds its engineers inside enterprise teams to build custom, AI-powered fixes for their operational challenges. Every engagement is scoped to deliver a working capability rather than an assessment, built on the Aspect platform and designed around the way that customer's operation actually runs.

"Our largest customers rarely come to us with configuration questions. They come to us with operational problems. With FDE, our engineers work directly with customers' operations teams to understand the problem, design the solution together, and build it."

— Subra Mani, Interim VP of Engineering, Aspect

A Role Reshaping Enterprise Software

Aspect joins a fast-growing wave of technology firms adopting the Forward Deployed Engineer model, first pioneered by Palantir and now spreading across AI labs and enterprise software companies. The demand signal is striking: according to Indeed data reported by Business Insider, FDE job postings jumped from 643 in April 2025 to 5,330 in April 2026 — a 729% year-over-year surge that makes it one of the fastest-growing roles in tech.

The appeal is practical. Rather than working from documented requirements or secondhand insights, forward deployed engineers embed inside customer workflows, learn constraints firsthand, and ship production solutions that solve problems at their source. Increasingly, Aspect says, that means applying Aspect Intelligence to decisions that are still being made manually today.

Cloud Workforce Advances Forecasting, Planning & Scheduling

The Q3 release also delivers practical improvements across Aspect Cloud Workforce, helping teams work from fresher inputs with less manual effort. The Forecast Dashboard now automatically generates 10-week volume and AHT forecasts from the latest actuals, powered by Aspect Intelligence, so planners always work from consistent inputs without manual upkeep.

A new Cinareo integration carries those forecasts straight into network- and location-level planning, connecting workforce and network-level decisions. And self-service scheduling improvements give employees reusable shift packages while giving supervisors a single place to review team requests — reducing everyday manual work on both sides. Further capabilities are set to arrive in Aspect Intelligence in Q4.

Key Takeaways
1

Engineers embedded. Aspect Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) is a new service for select enterprise customers that places Aspect engineers directly inside operations teams to build custom, AI-powered capabilities.

2

Outcomes, not assessments. Every FDE engagement is scoped to deliver a working capability built on the Aspect platform, designed around how each customer's operation actually runs.

3

A booming role. FDE job postings surged 729% year-over-year — from 643 in April 2025 to 5,330 in April 2026 — making it one of the fastest-growing roles in tech.

4

Smarter forecasting. Aspect Cloud Workforce now auto-generates 10-week volume and AHT forecasts from the latest actuals via Aspect Intelligence, removing manual upkeep for planners.

5

Connected planning & scheduling. A new Cinareo integration links forecasts to network-level planning, while self-service scheduling adds reusable shift packages and centralized request review.
