Hudson Survey: AI-Enabled Recruiting Still Needs Human Expertise

Recruitment · HR Tech 3 min read

Hudson Talent Solutions has released new survey data showing that even as AI adoption accelerates across recruiting, human oversight remains essential to accurate, ethical hiring decisions. According to the findings, 94% of professionals say AI-generated insights are at least sometimes inaccurate, with 38% calling those results often incorrect.

"AI is changing what is possible in recruitment."

Trust in AI Remains Limited

Despite growing reliance on AI tools, the survey found that fewer than 10% of respondents trust AI more than people to deliver accurate, ethical strategic business insights. More than half, 54%, said the best results come from a combination of people and AI working together rather than either operating alone. That balance sits at the center of how Hudson approaches recruitment process outsourcing, pairing its proprietary technology with structured human governance and oversight.

Clients want AI adopted responsibly, tied to the right process, governance, and human expertise, so it becomes an advantage rather than a distraction.

A More Positive Employee Experience, With Caveats

The survey also pointed to upside: 62% of respondents said AI has had a positive impact on job satisfaction, largely by reducing administrative burden and freeing recruiting teams to spend more time on strategic, consultative, and candidate-facing work. Even so, the data suggests many organizations are still early in building the governance structures needed to use AI effectively, underscoring why experienced recruiters and talent advisors remain central to the hiring process rather than optional add-ons.
