Recur Software Announces the Acquisition of PCRecruiter

HR Tech · Recruitment Software 4 min read

Recur Software has completed the acquisition of PCRecruiter, a leading provider of applicant tracking and recruitment CRM software purpose-built for recruiting agencies. The deal deepens Recur's presence in vertical markets with distinct operational workflows and adds one of the most established names in recruiting technology to its portfolio of industry-specific software businesses.

Under the new ownership, Recur intends to invest in accelerating PCRecruiter's modern platform, activating its existing AI capabilities, and building the commercial infrastructure needed to support the next phase of growth. PCRecruiter currently supports over 1,300 recruiting agencies across the United States.

"PCRecruiter has quietly become the most trusted platform in recruiting, and that's because of a best-in-class product coupled with 25+ years of hands-on customer relationships. We plan to protect that and invest behind it."

— Charlie Serota, Co-Founder, Recur Software

A Platform Built for Recruiting Agencies

Founded in 1998, PCRecruiter has spent more than two decades helping agencies streamline their workflows, manage candidate and client relationships, and make faster placements, all from a single core system of record. Its ATS/CRM hybrid serves the full recruiting workflow, with features ranging from virtually unlimited custom fields and forms to a drag-and-drop pipeline and an open API powering native integrations with Outlook, Gmail, and popular third-party tools.

Recur's stated thesis is that the platform's combination of deep customer relationships and product depth makes it an unusually strong foundation, the kind that most software businesses spend years attempting to build. Customers, the company says, should expect continuity in what they already rely on, alongside acceleration in what comes next.

"PCRecruiter has the kind of foundation that most software businesses spend years trying to build: deep customer relationships and a product that sits at the center of how agencies work. Recur's long-term ownership model and focused investment give us the resources to take that foundation further."

— John Mitropoulos, Managing Director, PCRecruiter

Recur's Long-Term Vertical Software Strategy

Recur Software partners with industry-specific software companies to accelerate growth and drive product development, taking a deliberately long-term approach focused on building durable category leaders rather than chasing growth at all costs. The firm positions AI as a tailwind, aiming to build AI-first products and automate the workflows that matter most to the industries its companies serve.

As part of the transition, John Mitropoulos steps into the role of Managing Director to lead the next chapter of PCRecruiter's development. The acquisition continues an active period of expansion for Recur, which has previously moved into other verticals through deals for businesses including Innova Zones in food processing and Cognidox in life sciences quality management.
