SAP is stepping up its AI strategy in human resources and enterprise automation. On October 8, 2026, it said it will acquire TechWolf, a Belgian AI workforce intelligence company. The price was not disclosed. The deal is reported as the largest venture-backed software acquisition in Belgium.

SAP plans to build TechWolf's talent intelligence into its HR and workforce products, including SuccessFactors. The aim is to give employers a clearer picture of the skills inside their workforce, so they can plan hiring, development and internal moves more accurately.

Alongside the acquisition, SAP set out its "Autonomous Enterprise" vision, in which software handles more business processes with less human input. The vision rests on two new offerings, Joule Work and Joule Assistants. SAP has also set a target of 200 Joule agents.

Partnerships support the push. SAP is working with IBM through the "Ready for SAP Solutions" programme and has expanded its work with NetApp, which backs its pitch as a full-stack, AI-ready provider. Autonomous CX is planned for the first quarter of 2027, and SAP Pay is another product to watch.

What to watch next

The main question is how quickly these products turn into revenue. Investors will be looking at how many Joule agents are actually live, how widely SAP Pay is adopted, and which early customers publicly back the new tools. SAP's market value is about €217 billion.
