Greenhouse Appoints Sharawn Tipton as Chief People Officer

Veteran people leader brings two decades of experience building inclusive, high-performing organizations.

Greenhouse, the leading hiring platform, today announced the appointment of Sharawn Tipton as Chief People Officer. In this role, Tipton will identify new opportunities where people strategy can accelerate Greenhouse’s business objectives while strengthening the employee experience as the company continues to scale.

Over the past 20 years, Tipton has championed the people function as a core driver of business success. Her career spans both public and private companies, where she has led comprehensive human resources strategies and fostered inclusive, high-trust cultures. She brings deep expertise across all facets of HR, with particular strengths in Total Rewards and IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Allyship).

Most recently, Tipton served as Chief People and Culture Officer at LiveRamp, where she led global human resources efforts. In that role, she designed people strategies closely aligned to business outcomes while building environments rooted in trust, inclusion, and belonging.

Tipton joins Greenhouse during a period of rapid growth and innovation for the company, following recent product launches including Real Talent, MyGreenhouse, and Dream Job. Her leadership will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s people practices continue to scale alongside its technology and customer impact.

Commitment Beyond the Workplace

Outside of work, Tipton is passionate about travel, exploring new cities, discovering new food, and experiencing live music. She has served on multiple nonprofit boards focused on advancing workplace and educational equity, including Fair Pay Workplace, College Track Oakland, and the Business Insider Workforce Innovation Board.

Through these roles, Tipton has contributed to initiatives aimed at dismantling pay disparities, supporting first-generation and historically underrepresented college students, and advancing equitable workforce practices. She also shares her expertise as a guest lecturer on human resources topics at Golden Gate University.
