The O’Connor Group Appoints Meghan Popoleo as President
The O’Connor Group, a leading HR outsourcing and recruitment firm, today announced the appointment of Meghan Popoleo as President. In her new role, Popoleo will lead strategic initiatives focused on driving business growth and strengthening employee engagement and retention.
Founder Marcia Zaruba O’Connor, who established The O’Connor Group in 2007, will continue to serve as CEO. In this capacity, O’Connor will concentrate on cultivating unique growth opportunities for the firm while expanding her broader community impact.
Popoleo has played a pivotal role in the firm’s evolution, advancing steadily through multiple leadership positions over the past decade. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Growth, where she refined her expertise across sales, marketing, and client engagement. Her leadership philosophy positions the people function as the cornerstone of organizational success, with programs designed to foster positive workplaces, collaborative cultures, and measurable outcomes.
“I have been very fortunate to be on board with The O’Connor Group for the past decade, as we’ve advanced with the market to provide more comprehensive outsourced HR services and specialize in the unique demands of industries including life sciences, manufacturing, and professional services,” said Popoleo. “Marcia has been a true visionary from day one, recognizing the distinct need for companies to access robust but flexible HR and recruiting services that seamlessly integrate with their operations. We’re excited to see where this next chapter takes The O’Connor Group.”
Earlier in her career, Popoleo gained experience in nonprofit organizations as well as private equity-backed, early-stage life sciences companies. This background has provided her with valuable insight into the operational dynamics and people challenges within these sectors.
Popoleo earned her Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University and remains deeply engaged in community service. She has long served on committees for Bringing Hope Home, a nonprofit supporting families facing cancer, and sits on the boards of the Women’s Resource Center and Shadow Her. She is also a member of the Forum of Executive Women and a former board member of the Philadelphia chapter of Women in Bio.
“As The O’Connor Group has evolved to support the changing needs of our clients, Meghan has been right there, anticipating the challenges of today’s businesses and driving our growth to ensure we’re a step ahead of the competition,” said O’Connor. “Not only has Meghan amassed extensive hands-on experience and earned industry credibility, but she sees things differently and offers a fresh perspective. Under Meghan’s leadership, The O’Connor Group will excel in new and innovative ways.”
As CEO, O’Connor will focus on developing new service offerings and affiliated companies that align with The O’Connor Group’s mission. She also plans to expand her impact through speaking engagements, board leadership, and her continued work with Shadow Her, the nonprofit she founded to equip women entrepreneurs with essential skills and resources for success.
