The Association for Talent Development (ATD) and AI expert Josh Cavalier have announced a new collaboration to bring AI-driven content and education to ATD’s global community.

In partnership with Cavalier, ATD has introduced the Applying AI in Learning and Development Certificate, a three-day program designed to help talent development (TD) professionals enhance learning experience design using generative AI. The course will explore AI’s role in skill development and human performance, equipping participants with practical, hands-on training to transform their learning and development (L&D) strategies.

Cavalier, a pioneering leader with more than 30 years in the L&D industry, is a respected voice in the field. ATD, recognized as the world’s largest association supporting talent development professionals, currently offers more than 200 courses for TD practitioners.

The program will also leverage Cavalier’s insights featured in his upcoming book, Applying AI in Learning and Development: From Platforms to Performance (ATD Press, November 2025).

“I will be sharing my L&D AI Ecosystem framework as a practical road map for integrating AI into the day-to-day work of TD professionals,” said Cavalier. “I’m excited to partner with ATD’s world-class Education team to help the global community of professionals skill up in this critical area.”

The Applying AI in Learning and Development Certificate program will be offered four times in 2025. The first session will take place at the ATD Learning Center in Alexandria, Virginia, from October 20–22. Each participant will receive a complimentary hard copy of Cavalier’s new book. Seating is limited, and advance registration is required. Additional program offerings are planned for 2026.
