Employbridge Appoints William Grubbs as Interim CEO Amid Leadership Transition
Employbridge, the largest industrial staffing company in the United States, has announced the appointment of William (“Bill”) Grubbs as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Grubbs, a member of the Employbridge Board of Directors, succeeds Billy Milam, who served as CEO since 2021 and will transition to pursue other opportunities. Milam will continue to support the company as an advisor for 60 days to ensure a smooth handover.
Grubbs brings over 35 years of experience in leading and scaling staffing and workforce solutions businesses. He previously served as President and CEO of Cross Country Healthcare, the third-largest healthcare staffing firm in the U.S., and held senior leadership roles at TrueBlue Inc., Volt, and SFN Group. Throughout his career, Grubbs has focused on operational excellence, talent solutions, and driving profitable growth. He joined the Employbridge Board in April 2025 and will operate from the company’s headquarters in Atlanta.
“Bill is a seasoned operator with deep roots in the staffing industry and a strong understanding of our business,” said Robert Kalsow-Ramos, Chairman of the Board. “With Bill at the helm and the support of the talented Employbridge team, we are confident in a smooth transition and the continuation and acceleration of the company’s strategy. Employbridge will continue to deepen its role as a trusted partner to America’s industrial supply chain and help people and organizations perform today and thrive tomorrow.”
Grubbs commented, “I’m thrilled to take on this role and work alongside the talented Employbridge team to execute our strategy and strengthen our leadership position in the industrial labor market. Employbridge connects people with meaningful work and helps businesses build scalable, productive, and compliant workforces. I intend to leverage my experience to advance our technology and talent solutions to meet evolving workforce needs.”
Kalsow-Ramos added, “On behalf of the Board and all of Employbridge, we thank Billy Milam for his contributions. His tenure as CEO has driven digital and workforce advancements while showing strong dedication to colleagues, clients, and communities.”
Milam said, “It has been a privilege to lead Employbridge during a period of growth and transformation. I am grateful for the support of my colleagues and inspired by their commitment to serving clients, talent, and each other. I firmly believe the best is yet to come.”
