Sean Barry Joins as CEO
To drive this vision forward, Sean Barry has joined Harver as CEO. A seasoned, customer-focused leader, Barry brings two decades of experience building high-performing teams and delivering enterprise-grade products at companies including Allconnect (now Red Ventures), Rent (now Zillow), Bridgevine (now Updater), and MCI (now Verizon).
“Our customers are under pressure to deliver results in a hiring environment that’s changing faster than ever,” said Barry. “The chance to align Harver’s deep scientific knowledge, data, and products to enable our clients to successfully navigate the obstacles ahead is exciting. We’re here to help them find the right talent quickly, fairly, and confidently—all while delivering a stellar candidate and hiring manager experience.”
Dr. Ben Porr Promoted to Chief Science Officer
To reinforce Harver’s commitment to People and Data Science, Dr. Ben Porr has been promoted to Chief Science Officer. Since joining Harver in 2018, Dr. Porr has championed evidence-based, ethically sound practices. In his new role, he will lead Harver’s team of scientists, work cross-functionally with product and engineering, and ensure solutions are accurate, transparent, and legally defensible.
“Every hiring decision we influence can be improved through our unique blend of decades of scientific insights and highly effective user experience,” said Dr. Porr. “Without People Science, hiring is just a coin toss. With it, we can solve the right problems at scale, fairly and with integrity.”
AI and the Future of Hiring
The acceleration of AI in talent acquisition presents significant opportunities and risks. Harver emphasizes that AI tools must integrate seamlessly with data and scientific principles to avoid bias and legal exposure. Its assessments and automation platform integrate with existing ATS and HRIS systems, empowering organizations to make smarter, more equitable hiring decisions.
“This leadership change reflects our confidence in the value Harver can deliver,” said Vincent Chao, Partner at Rubicon Technology Partners. “Sean’s proven leadership ensures Harver can prepare companies for the next wave of AI-driven talent acquisition, responsibly and at scale.”
