AI advancements, redesigned hybrid frameworks, and outcome-based employee experience strategies are set to shape the future of work in the U.K., according to a new ISG Provider Lens® report.
Enterprises in the U.K. are redefining workplace strategies to balance innovation, resilience, and sustainability, as revealed in the 2025 ISG Provider Lens® Future of Work Services report for the U.K. published by Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a global AI-driven technology research and advisory firm.
The report finds that enterprises are integrating advanced technologies into core business operations while rethinking hybrid work models and embedding sustainability into digital workplace strategies. Increasingly, Generative AI (GenAI) is enabling hyperpersonalized employee experiences by analyzing large data sets to tailor interactions and offerings to individual preferences. By combining these innovations with responsible AI practices and strong governance, organizations are achieving greater efficiency and resilience in the face of inflationary pressures and talent shortages.
“At some enterprises in the U.K., GenAI is no longer an experiment but the cornerstone of workplace transformation,” said Iain Fisher, Director at ISG. “These organizations are leveraging AI to improve efficiency and foster continuous learning. However, many companies are still observing pilot outcomes before committing to full-scale adoption.”
Hybrid Work Becomes the New Standard
Hybrid work has evolved into a core operational model rather than a temporary solution. According to ISG, more than 60% of U.K. job postings now offer hybrid or fully remote options. Enterprises are designing hybrid frameworks that balance autonomy with accountability, supported by collaborative tools like Microsoft Teams and Zoom. These digital ecosystems enhance collaboration among employees, partners, and customers—promoting inclusivity, agility, and innovation.
Outcome-Driven Employee Experience
Employee experience (EX) in the U.K. is shifting toward measurable, outcome-driven strategies. Rather than relying solely on traditional sentiment surveys, organizations are using real-time telemetry and behavioral analytics to assess engagement and performance. Digital Employee Experience (DEX) platforms, integrated with IT and HR systems, are helping identify risks of disengagement and allowing for tailored interventions that enhance satisfaction and productivity.
Sustainability at the Core of Workplace Strategy
U.K. enterprises are embedding sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) commitments into workplace design and technology procurement. Companies are adopting smart building technologies, renewable energy, and IoT-enabled tools to reduce carbon footprints and monitor energy use in real time. These initiatives not only fulfill ethical responsibilities but also enhance corporate reputation and stakeholder trust.
“Sustainability is now central to strategic decision-making,” said Kevin Turner, Principal Consultant at ISG and lead author of the report. “Organizations that align ESG initiatives with business objectives strengthen brand reputation, attract investment, and create long-term value.”

The report also highlights growing financial discipline among enterprises, driving self-funded transformation efforts and stronger collaboration between IT, HR, and operations for sustainable outcomes. It evaluates the capabilities of 45 providers across seven quadrants, including Workplace Strategy, Collaboration and Next-gen Experience Services, Managed End-user Technology Services, and AI-augmented Workforce Services.
