VeroSkills, an AI-powered hiring platform addressing the $1 trillion blue-collar labor shortage crisis, announced the close of a $5.3 million funding round led by Yonder Ventures, with participation from Circadian Ventures, Motivate Ventures, Colchuck, and Tony Summerville, the founder of Fleetio. The investment will accelerate VeroSkills’ rapid growth as it scales its AI staffing engine, which delivers 48-hour placements and 2–3x higher employee retention for U.S. employers.
VeroSkills has experienced rapid traction, contracting $15 million in annual recurring revenue in just six weeks by connecting employers with millions of pre-screened, work-ready candidates from immigrant, refugee, and underserved communities. The platform aims to close the growing gap in the labor force, where for every five workers retiring from blue-collar sectors, only two replacements enter the workforce. The manufacturing industry alone faces hundreds of thousands of vacancies — a number expected to climb sharply by the end of the decade.
“What staffing and recruitment agencies do in weeks and months, we do in days and hours, thanks to our AI-driven platform,” said Daniel Walsh, CEO and Founder of VeroSkills. “Given the urgency of the labor crisis, there’s no time to waste. Millions of skilled workers are being overlooked by traditional recruiting models, and VeroSkills is bridging that gap with technology designed to scale infinitely.”
Employers working with VeroSkills are already seeing dramatic improvements in retention and reliability. Ninety-three percent report retention rates two to three times higher among VeroSkills hires. All workers are fully authorized to work in the U.S., EU, or Canada from day one, reducing onboarding friction and compliance overhead.
“VeroSkills represents the next generation of AI-first labor marketplaces capable of serving the long tail of small and medium-sized businesses that account for nearly half of all U.S. hiring,” said Colin Gardiner, Founding Partner at Yonder Ventures. “AI makes it economically feasible to connect employers and workers across 52 languages — something that was previously impossible at scale.”
Mike Dowdle, Founding Partner at Circadian Ventures, added, “Under Daniel’s leadership, VeroSkills has redefined how the staffing industry approaches speed, efficiency, and sustainability. Their results-driven innovation is reshaping an industry long overdue for transformation.”
Lauren Deluca, Founding and Managing Partner at Motivate Ventures, noted, “VeroSkills has cracked the code on what traditional staffing firms have struggled with for decades — speed, scalability, and retention. Their AI-powered model is delivering measurable impact in a market primed for disruption.”
