Canela Media Launches Club Canela, a Revolutionary In-App Streaming Rewards Program
Canela Media, a multicultural media company at the forefront of technology and innovation, has introduced Club Canela, the first fully integrated in-app rewards program on its Canela.TV streaming platform. This pioneering initiative is set to create deeper connections with viewers and open fresh avenues for brands to engage with Hispanic audiences in meaningful ways.
Debuting in April 2025, Club Canela allows registered users to earn rewards simply by watching, sharing, and interacting with their favorite content on Canela.TV, a free AVOD platform offering more than 35,000 hours of relevant entertainment for U.S. Hispanic audiences. Rewards can be redeemed for exclusive content, digital gift cards, and sweepstakes entries—enhancing the user experience and providing advertisers with highly engaging branded challenges.
McDonald’s and The Coca-Cola Company have joined as the program's official launch partners, reflecting their continued investment in initiatives that resonate with Hispanic communities. Stephanie Eaddy, head of Cultural Marketing at Coca-Cola North America, noted, “Club Canela is an innovative program designed to foster deeper connections with audiences as they engage with the content they love.”
With nearly half of Canela.TV’s audience reporting household incomes over $100K, the platform provides brands access to an affluent and highly engaged consumer base. Club Canela amplifies this by offering interactive, rewards-driven experiences and precise targeting tools that boost viewer retention and brand recall.
“Club Canela is the next innovation frontier in CTV and streaming, gamifying viewership to increase engagement and branding opportunities,” said Isabel Rafferty Zavala, Co-Founder and CEO of Canela Media. She emphasized that this initiative has been part of Canela’s vision from the start, reflecting a long-term strategy to bridge entertainment and advertiser engagement through innovation.
Industry research supports the move: a KPMG study found that 75% of consumers prefer brands with reward programs. Club Canela taps into this trend by introducing gamification features such as quizzes, polls, branded content challenges, ecommerce links, and curated content collections—all while keeping the experience free for users.
“Club Canela is sure to be a breakthrough user and brand experience, bringing a new and innovative approach to engaging with U.S. Hispanic audiences,” added Oswald Mendez, Chief Marketing Officer of Canela Media. “This program redefines the streaming experience while offering advertisers premium, first-to-market opportunities to connect with viewers.”
