Employment Hero, a global leader in employment solutions, has surpassed A$300 million in global annual recurring revenue (ARR), marking a tenfold increase in just over five years. The company achieved this milestone while maintaining continued EBITDA profitability on both a monthly and year-to-date basis, demonstrating scalable growth at a global level.

In the first half of 2025, Employment Hero added over A$30 million in new ARR and completed the strategic acquisition of Canadian HR and payroll platform Humi in January 2025. The company recorded its first EBITDA-positive month in December 2024 and has maintained EBITDA-positive performance year-to-date, positioning it on track for its first full EBITDA-positive year. Few SaaS companies worldwide combine this level of scale with sustained profitability.

Employment Hero now supports 350,000 businesses globally, including in Canada, with its award-winning Employment Operating System (eOS), which streamlines HR, payroll, recruitment, and employee engagement processes.

Ben Thompson, CEO and Co-founder of Employment Hero, said: “When Dave Tong and I founded Employment Hero over a decade ago, our goal was to create confident employers equipped to manage, employ, and pay their people. Reaching A$300 million in ARR while becoming profitable reflects the value we deliver daily to the 350,000 businesses using our platform. Moving forward, our focus remains on simplifying employment and providing SMBs the infrastructure to operate at the level of the world’s largest companies.”

Craig Blair, Partner and Founder at Airtree, added: “Employment Hero’s growth to A$300 million in ARR, alongside profitability, reflects both the strength of its platform and the clarity of Ben Thompson’s vision. The company continues to expand its role as a leading employment operating system while supporting hundreds of thousands of businesses across multiple markets.”

Reinforcing its commitment to data security, Employment Hero has achieved SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, a benchmark standard for security, availability, and confidentiality. Following an independent audit by Global Compliance Certification, the certification was issued with no exceptions, confirming that Employment Hero’s systems and processes meet the standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Kevin Kliman, President of Canadian business at Employment Hero, said: “Earning SOC 2 Type 2 compliance demonstrates our commitment to protecting customer data with the highest security standards. Canadian businesses can trust that our platform is secure and reliable, allowing them to focus on running and growing their business.”

With a growing global workforce and a strong presence in Canada led by Kevin Kliman, Employment Hero joins the ranks of notable Australian unicorns such as Canva, Atlassian, and Airwallex. The company’s accelerating ARR growth reinforces its position as a leading employment platform for small and medium-sized businesses.
